Types of Logs

Swedish Cope Cabin Appearance

This is our most popular profile. The majority of our customers prefer the more rustic characteristics found in the cabin appearance over those found in the standard appearance. These logs are intentionally milled to leave some bark on the surface. The bark is then draw knifed off, giving the log a more rustic appearance. These logs are grade stamped. Sizes available: 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 14, 15, and 16-inch diameters.

Swedish Cope Draw Knifed Appearance

The draw knifed appearance occurs when the entire visible portion of the log is draw knifed. This is a popular choice for those who want the handcrafted look in a milled log. Available in standard and cabin style listed above. These logs are grade stamped. Sizes available: 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 14, 15, and 16-inch diameters.

Rustic D-Log

Rustic D-Logs are cut flat on 3 sides (the top, bottom, & inside) with a band saw. The exterior natural edge of the log is then draw knifed giving the home a rustic look. This style of home mimics many of the nations log homes dating back hundreds of years. These logs are grade stamped. Rustic D-Logs are available in 6x5, 7x7, & 8x8. Other sizes are available upon request.

T&G D-Log

The T&G D-Log has a planed smooth finish with a tongue on the top of each log that fits inside of the groove of the log that is set on top of it. The interior of the wall is flat, while the exterior of the log maintains a rounded profile. This style of log is for the customer that wants a more contemporary look & feel. This style of log utilizes the Butt & Pass corner system. These logs are grade stamped. T&G D-Logs are available in 8x8, & 8x12. Other sizes & styles are available upon request.
